Pure Dessert, (Artisan, 2007, page 149)
| 1. | 70% bittersweet chocolate | 6 oz., chopped coarse |
| Hershey's Special Dark chocolate chips | 2 oz. | |
| salted butter | 6 Tablespoons, cut into pieces |

| 3. | eggs | 3 large |
| sugar | 1 cup (or less) | |
| salt | ¼ teaspoon | |
| vanilla extract | 1 teaspoon | |
| 4. | white whole wheat flour | ⅓ cup + 1 Tablespoon |
1. Use a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over (not in) boiling water to melt the chocolate and the butter.
2. While the chocolate and butter are melting, preheat your oven to 350° and grease your 8x8inch brownie pan.
3. Put the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla into a large bowl and beat them on high with your hand-held mixer for two minutes. Then stir the chocolate and butter mixture in.
4. Fold the flour in.
5. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the middle of the pan comes out clean.
