home is the front page, like a combination of the cover and the table of contents of a magazine. Each week has its own front page, and all the new content for the week is linked directly or indirectly from its front page.

recipes are recipes -- mostly from published books, sometimes from magazines and newspapers, the Web, and our food memories -- that we alteR to fit our needs, fulfill our desires, and (we hope) help you see how to alteR your recipes as well.
Although we start from published recipes, we always rewrite them in our own words, take our own photos, do our own drawings, and credit the original authors.
books are the cookbooks chosen as books of the month.
smalltalk is our miscellaneous section -- expect to find conversations with our readers, conversations between the two of us, and even the occasional monologue, all on topics as nitty‑gritty as silicone spatulas and as exalted as the meaning of family meals.
etc. is appendixes for Domestic Intelligence.
d.i. is drafts (numbers that end with .1-.100) and notes (numbers that end in .0) for Domestic Intelligence, the book m-c is writing.
